Dr. Gloria Brim, MS, LMHCA

I have over 28 years of experience working within or partnering with nonprofit organizations that assist marginalized and underserved populations, as well as individuals with disabilities. These organizations provided employment opportunities, as well as mental health and medical services. Through these experiences, I have worked with a diverse (ethnically, racially, linguistically, immigrant/refugee, and post-incarcerated) population with mental health challenges and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities. The organizations through which I served include the Northwest Center. Successful Essentials Counseling and the nonprofit All Inclusive Community Center, Sound Mental Health, MultiCare, ResCare Homecare Services, and Harborview Medical Center, University of Washington. The positions include Patient Care Coordinator, Patient Service Representative, Education Services/System Educator, Human Resources and Client Service Supervisor, Vocational Specialist, and Mental Health Counselor/Therapist. Additionally, the roles encompass Business Accessibility Partner, Employment Consultant, and Founder of All Inclusive Community Center.

Key Contributions transformed a client's life, providing successful vocational therapy in conjunction with mental health counseling. A Vocational Specialist, a client became a peer-support counselor for a hospital, and I received acclaim from his therapist for providing him with a job that led to a life change and success. The success story was featured in the 2016 Annual Report and served as a champion for the agency, quickly salvaging a dormant job development program for mentally disabled clients at Sound Works. I jump-started the program, boosting revenues from $0 to $ 7,000 and sometimes $ 20,000 monthly, while managing 25 clients and 300 annually. Doctoral research: Identifying services to bridge the employment gap for the post-incarcerated population. Founder, All Inclusive Community Center.

My education consists of —a Doctorate in Human Services, Leadership, and Organizational Management, School of Education and Public Service. Conducted research titled: Bridging the employment gap for the most incarcerated population. The literature review identified and discussed social-emotional skill deficits that interfere with post-incarceration employment opportunities. Master of Science, Mental Health Counseling, Harold Abel School of Psychology, Bachelor of Science, Human Service Management, AA Health Administration.
